Outfit: Balenciaga, Stripes and Mr. Lincoln

Welcome to the family, Balenciaga Arena Classic City in Coquelicot Red! Out of the many Balenciaga styles, the Classic City is the perfect size and can be carried both on the shoulder with a longer strap or on the forearm (as seen here). This specific red color is beautiful and even though it might not “match” every outfit, it would provide a nice contract with most color combinations.

I was at the Lincoln Memorial in D.C. last weekend trying to be bright amidst the overcast day, when I took the Balenciaga out for the first time. The striped blazer from Armani Exchange was also a great find — the back has ruffles which adds some visual interest and differentiates it amongst the sea of striped blazers in stores this spring.

Outfit: Dressing the Bump in Beige and Neon

Once upon a time, there were two color families: the Beiges and the Neons.  The Beiges always felt bad because everyone thought they were so dull and, well, beige.  The Neons, on the other hand, partied hard in the ’80s and, to this day, people still whisper about how tacky they once were.  One day, the Beiges invited the Neons over for dinner and a magical friendship was born.  You can witness this bewitching combination in your favorite stores, shops or boutiques.  It’s called the Beige-Neon pairing and it’s genius.  Somehow, by putting together two things that contrast so much, a perfect complement occurs.  The Beiges give new class to the Neons and the Neons give an edge to the Beiges.  I’m seriously in love with this trend.  Check out my everyday beige-neon look below:

Outfit: Timeless Basics with trendy accessories

[[Timeless Basics]]: Trench: A/X (similar), Shirt: Zoe & Sam (Gilt private label, similar), Jeans: 7 for All Mankind Roxanne Skinny (buy), Shoes: J.Crew (similar), [[Trendy Accessories]]: Necklace: David Aubrey (similar), Bracelet: Ettika (similar by Ettika), Handbag: Beirn (similar by Beirn)

I love outfits constructed from a base of timeless classics — pieces that would look appropriate at almost any age and in any decade. In this case, I’ve paired a white collared blouse with skinny jeans, trench/anorak, and desert booties. This basic canvas can then be punched up with the season’s latest trends: a statement necklace in bright colors, animal print handbag, silky blouse fabric, and braided bracelets. Key pieces like these are investments that can last for years and can always be updated with the latest trends.

On my way to the Highline

First visit to the Doughnut Plant in Chelsea, NYC. I had the vanilla bean and blackberry mini doughnut. Delicious!
